Morgan Smith
Graduate of Columbia College at Columbia University as well as Mannes College of Music in New York City, Morgan was an Seattle Opera young artist (1999-2000) then in 2001 made his debut on stage in the role of Donald as Billy Budd. The show is a huge hit of Seattle, Mr. Smith has performed roles in 12 other productions since the debut. These include The Count Alamaviva as Count Alamaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni (title role), Silvio in I Pagliacci, Riccardo in I Puritani and Peter Niles in Mourning Becomes Electra. Smith, a frequent performer is making the Dallas Symphony debut in Bach's St. Matthew Passion. In addition, he performed as the North American premier of Detlef Glanert's orchestral adaptation of Brahmsfamous cycle Vier Praludien and Ernste Gesange with and the San Antonio Symphony. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony is also on the list, as are the Requiems written by Brahms Faure Mozart Durufle the Masses C Minor Mozart Vaughan Williams as well as Bach's B Minor Mass. Handel's Messiah, L'Allegro Penseroso Moderato, Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass, Bach's B Minor Mass, many Cantatas, as well as Bach's Weihnachts Oratorium.
